Materials and Methods: The results of 250 patients who were randomized for incisional hernia between 2012 and 2016 were reviewed. Patients were divided into laparoscopic group (n: 122) and open group (n: 128). Demographic characteristics were analyzed statistically in terms of operation time, hospitalization time, postoperative early-late complications and recurrence. Results: The mean age of the patients we operated with open hernia method was higher. There was no statistically significant difference between open and closed technique in terms of perioperative characteristics and post operative complications. Conclusion: Laparoscopic incisional hernia repair can be applied as safe as open technique in appropriate patients. We still believe that prospective controlled studies with large patient groups are still needed to standardize for appropriate technique
