Abstract:

War reporting is known as all the journalistic exercises conducted during the war so that the information gathered about the battlefield is communicated to the public. War photography and cinematography are also considered to take photographs and make films both in and behind the front line during the war. War reporting, photography and cinematography professions are closely related and have dangerous structures in nature. These professions also must be taken into acccount in terms of secrecy of war. When war correspondents, war photographers and cinematographers go to the front line, they have to obey certain rules in the direction of life security and perform their profession to the extent permitted by the official authorities. Until the First World War, there weresome professional developments in war reporting, photography and cinematography, and were significant advances among these professions. During the First World War they were also used by the countries to create public opinion in their own favor. During the war period, war correspondents, photographers and cinematographers took parts in the fronts where the Ottoman Empire struggled with the Entente States and they made various reports about the war, photographed and made films. A large number of war correspondents, photographers and cinematographers were found on the fronts of the Ottoman Empire, especially on the ?anakkale Front. Although the majority of them were foreign nationals, there were some Turks among them. Instructions were prepared for these war correspondents, photographers and cinematographers who went to the front in the Ottoman Empire, and their movements were subject to the control of instructions. This work focuses on the working conditions and identities of war correspondents, photographers and cinematographers who worked at the fronts of the Ottoman Empire during the First World War
