“Time” Concept in Old Uighur Jātakas

Time has a great importance together with past, future and all moments between them as a concept. The aim of this study is not to define the concept of time in a complete way. Rather thema is to question its presence on a particular area. In other words, our aim is to reveal the conceptual field of time. Expressed particular area is jātakas which belong to the Old Uighur Turkish. The reason of selection of these little studies is that possessing plain language which people think, speak and write. Another reason is that as a form, jātakas are very smilar to legends. Both of them use an imaginary time in their atmosphere. In the introduction part is given general information about time. Later respectively discussed jātaka as a literary genre in Old Uighur literature and time concept in Buddhism. Lastly, dwelled on the ways in which time concept is expressed
