The Problem of Positioning of Religion in the Modern Western Thought

Every discourse, including religion, has shown as a challenge to the current order and understanding of the environment in which it occurred. The general aim of all the discourses and insights that take aim at human being is to put the life in order within the frame of their principles. Religions, in particular religions that have a root of revelation, have a special place in this context. In fact, the religions not only focus on this world life, but rather they aim to save humans life in hereafter with the order established here. The modern approaches (on the grounds that they trivialize the world and this world life) which consider man and his mind as authority and focus on the world life have remained distant from religious and metaphysical. They even tried to refuse them. These attitudes that did not take into account the psychological tendencies of human life by reducing it to reason and experience, gave rise to emergence of postmodern understandings, which were more liberal and opposed to himself. The main aim of this article is philosophically to make the attitude of modern and postmodern approaches in the axis of religion as a subject of criticism
