Evaluation of viewpoint of people living in Ankara about private health insurance

Background: The need of individuals and the time individuals need for health services are often unpredictable. For this reason, the amount and time of health expenditures aren’t known exactly. Therefore, it is considered that a significant amount of unpredictable health expenditures and loss of income can be prevented with the help of health insurance. Objective: This study was realised in order to reveal viewpoints of people living in Ankara adults aged 18 and older about Private Health Insurances in Ankara. Methods: This study was conducted by using a questionnaire. Target population of the study is constitued of living in Ankara adults aged 18 and older, research sample of the study is constitued of 400 people living in Ankara. 394 poeople’s questionnaire is subject to analysis. Regression analysis were used in the analysis of data. Results: For the reliability of the questionnaire, the Cronbach’s Alpha was examined 0.83. other findings are widely included in the study. Conclusions: There is significant relationship between variables in the simple regression model in which the dependent variable is the viewpoint of respondents about Private Health Insurance and the independent variables are the education level, health insurance, healthcare institution visited in case of health problem and knowledge of complementary health insurance
