Village Poultry Production in Batman Province

This study was conducted to examine poultry production in Batman province’s village. Fort his aim, questionnaire data of 124 participants in living 14 village of Batman province’s districts, Sason, Be？iri and Gercü？ were used as research material. In the study, whether they sold the products they bought and whether they purchased eggs and chicken the number of poultry owned by the surveyed farmers was asked, also asked the farmers to raise their thoughts and tendencies about the nutritional value of eggs and chicken meat. Farmers were asked questions about maintenance, management and feeding in broiler and egg production and information was collected about the applications used in villages According to result of the study, it can be said that the reason to raise poultry in Batman province’s villages is to produce eggs. In the villages which the survey was done, it was confirmed that 99 % of the people who are doing poultry farming have poultry houses with soils grounds. It was found out that concentrate feed was almost never used in raising poultry in the villages. It was confirmed that mostly grain feed + pasturage + leavings are used in feeding poultry. When a general evaluation is made, it is predicted that these results may contribute to the development of the village poultry model of our countr
