In the process of commodification of art by the popular culture, serial and technological production, the reproduction of the original and the promotion of all kinds of consumption by mass media, advertising graphics, advertising channels and graphic design elements influenced artistic content and forms of representation. The effects of graphic design are observed as the use of symbols, graffiti and graphic collages in American neo-expressionism, the use of advertising photographs or advertising graphics in appropriation art, the inspiration of consumption in installations, computer software in the search for form, vector graphics and interactive designs, typographic expressions in the political discourse of art and popular culture symbols, and activist art as an advertising campaign. An examination of these effects is important to understand the interaction between graphic design and art, and to explain the development of popular graphic images. Classification was made as, graphic elements in neo-expressionism; artists and advertising graphics; the aesthetics of consumption and graphic forms in search of the original; visual expressions in human-technology interaction; political discourse in art
