WHY IS IT IMPORTANT for TURKEY WIDESPREAD of the MOTHER FRIENDLY HOSPITALS

The basis of the "mother-friendly hospital" approach in our country was laid by the Ministry of Health in 2011 and this approach is expected to increase normal birth rates. The purpose of this review article is to clarify the importance of the widespread of "mother-friendly hospitals" for our country and to raise awareness of the issue. For the first time in our country in Manisa, in 2015 three state hospitals were entitled to receive the title of "mother-friendly hospital". This number has increased over the years. As of 2018, 37 hospitals have received the title "mother-friendly hospital". With the increase in the number of mother-friendly hospitals in our country, more maternal candidates may receive birth training, such as episiotomy or artificial oxytocin, which is not recommended unless medically necessary at birth but is routinely performed by health personnel the interventions will diminish, it is thought that birth satisfaction will increase in more favorable environment and conditions, therefore, women's satisfaction with the birth process will increase. With the increase of maternal-friendly hospitals, it is hoped that women will be encouraged to have normal birth and the normal birth rates will increase and the cesarean section will decrease
