The "auteur" director concept, first described and discussed in the 1950s by the writers of "Cahiers du Cinéma", was introduced to describe directors who have absolute dominance at all stages in their films and therefore have signed films that reflect many common forms and content features of filmography. The debates regarding the "Auteur" concept subsequently extended to America and continued as diversionary in two different ways. This study revealed the basic qualities of the "auteur" theory and discussed it in the frame of Ye？im Ustao？lu's Clair Obscur (2016).
