Abstract: The place of Turkish among the world languages has long been the subject matter of many researches. One of the Turkologists who research the origin and structure of the Turkish language is Ahmet Cevat Emre (1876-1961). Emre, especially in his research writings during the period of Atatürk he has defended the view of the Turkish language is a native language of all the world languages. III. In his presentation to the Turkish Language Congress, he tried to prove this view within the framework of the Sun-Language Theory. Ahmet Cevat argues that, based on his investigations, false views were accepted in the classification of world languages. According to him, Turkish-as origin-is close to the Indo-European language family, and as a structure carries many features of flexional languages. He tried to explain these views by comparing the historical periods of Turkish language and Turkish dialects and Indo-European languages. His claims inspired by some French linguists have been criticized in the period of these claims. However, the origin of the Turkish language, the language family it belongs to, the relationship with the Indo-European language family and its structural features continue to be on the agenda of Turkologists.
