The Content of the Daily Worship Books of Catholic Church and Analysis of the Equivalent Used in Turkey

The numbers of daily worship hours of the Catholic Church and the texts used in these worships have varied in historical process and took its final form after the Second Vatican Council. In accordance with the decisions taken in the Council, worship hours were reduced down to four times per day practically in order to facilitate daily worship by all believers. The texts used in worship were also simplified and a new order of prayer was adopted. The official prayer book of the Church, which was prepared in accordance with this new order of prayer, is a six-volume work called Liturgia Horarum that contains the prayers read in daily worships. In Turkey, the book which is equivalent of this work is the one-volume prayer book named Tanr？’ya ？vgü Dualar？. In our study, both of these works were analyzed and the practice of the daily worships of Catholic Christianity was compared in terms of shape and content. In this context, the practice of daily worships is explained in detail and whether the texts used in prayers changes in West and Turkey is analyzed.
