Kerim Abstract: Studies in the text linguistics have increased significantly in recent years. Text linguistics is one of the various theories suggested for the creation texts and the interpretation of texts. ?t considers the text as a whole. In addition, it accepts cohesion and coherence as the elements that provide integrity in any text. According to text linguistics, the cohesion of the surface structure of any text is provided by various tools. These tools include reference, substitution, ellipse, conjunction, and lexical cohesion. One of the important reference tools that provide the cohesion in texts is pronouns. Pronouns connect the sentences that make up the text and provide harmony between them. In the Arabic language, if a noun is used in a sentence, and in a later sentence if a judgement is made about that noun, then it is a general rule to replace the noun with a pronoun. However, in some parts of the Qur'an, this rule does not work and the noun seems to be located where indeed a pronoun is supposed to keep ground. In other words, the name is repeated in different ways. By this reiteration, lexical cohesion is provided in the text. In this article, the reasons for the abandonment of the use of pronouns which provide coherency in several texts will be studied. Moreover, the effect of this issue on the cohesion of the text will be questioned. When the subject is discussed, the pronoun and the pronoun’s antecedent in the Qur'an will be briefly discussed. Because of the fact that such an issue would increase the scope of the research with its higly dense it would be studied as a thesis subject rather than an essay subject. In our study, some ayahs from the Qur'an and some Arabic verses regarding the issue were presented as examples. Afterwards, the examples were analyzed and some inferences were made
