Abstract:

Abdullatif al-Baghdad? is a polymath thinker who lived in the first half of the 13th century. The classical sources refer to him close to 160 works in various disciplines such as philosophy, medicine, geography, kalam, hadith and fiqh. Biography books provide detailed information about his life. This is largely because he wrote his autobiography asserted written as opposed to Avicenna. He preferred the tradition in philosophy as in almost every other subject. Therefore, as a follower of Farab? he acutely criticized Ibn S?na. The aim of this article is, firstly, to present the intellectual adventure of a thinker who lived after al-Ghazali. In this way, we hope that it will be understood that philosophical thought has not disappeared after the criticism of al-Ghazali. Secondly, the aim of this article is to show that after the al-Ghazali, the Avicennian tradition was not the only tendency.
