Examination of Some Variant Readings Related to the Hiatus in the Recitation Science

In this study, the subject of hiatus was considered and the this letter’s place in the recitation knowledge was reviewed. There are the disputes among the recitation’s scholars about whether the hiatus is accepted or not as a separate letter in Arabic alphabet, and about its reading as there is a dispute related to its origin and quality. These recitation disputes occur in the position of hiatus in a sentence. The hiatus has been read in the different recitations with its position as there are two hiatuses in the same word, there are two hiatuses in two words and there is a hiatus in a word. These recitation angles related to the hiatus were stated with the terms specific to itself like the investigation, facility, alteration. Not only the reading differences related to the hiatus which is available in the category of phonetic differences and doesn’t affect mostly on the verse were mentioned in many interpretation sources which have been from the first period to today but also they were mentioned in the recitation sources. In this sense, the aforementioned angles were reviewed in the interpretation and recitation sources and the approach of knowledge people to the reading differences related to the hiatus was tried to be determine
