A CONTENT ANALYSIS ON THE ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the academic staff job advertisements released in the field of tourism in Turkey and the departments. The teaching staff and faculty member job announcements in 2016-2017 for tourism departments to be employed in associate degree and undergraduate programs were evaluated. Within this scope, a total of 215 academic staff position announcements, including 112 faculty members and 103 teaching staff, were analyzed and the relationship between the criteria and departments were analyzed. Although the study has shown that a large proportion of academic staff job advertisements are related to tourism, it is also observed that a considerable number of job advertisements contain special criteria not related to the field, especially for Assistant Professor and Faculty Member positions
