Abstract:

Developments in communication has changed the tools of public relations and methods of reputation management of brands. Persuading the masses or establishing an emotional connection with them has become an interactive task with Web 2.0 technologies, and this has become the main duty of communication professionals. Firms can give the correct answers to the demands of the speedily changing target group and continue their existence in competition only in this manner. Brand communication and public relations are now receiving the value they deserve. In this article changing nature of communication in PR and reputation management is discussed and the case “üsküdar Municipality - Cat House” Project as an example of crisis communication is analyzed. It is reviewed how the municipality has managed a crisis -stemmed from a dsipute over cat breeding between two people living in the same street and apartment- by turning that crisis into an apparatus for increasing the reputation of the municipality
