FACTORS AFFECTING THE PREFERENCE FOR THE FINANCIAL CONSULTANCY PROFESSION: THE CASE OF ？ZM？R

The profession of financial consultancy has been legalized in Turkey in 1989 with the law numbered 3568. There are many factors that affect the preference of the financial consulting profession as well as other profession groups. The purpose of this study is to determinate the factors that affect the choice of the financial consulting profession’s members of the financial consulting profession. For this purpose, a survey was conducted for financial consultants working in city of ？zmir. According to the findings in this article there are significant factors that influence when opting for financial consulting professions, these are: parental guiding to career paths, peers and teacher effect, role model’s profession, professional (urban) occupation, good income, background knowledge constructing career area, profession interests, parents career, chance/destiny/coincidence, autonomous working and the career maintaining its quality in the future. On the other hand, ineffectual factors of this profession are: offering respectable social status, related to the numerical field, cognitive features apply, finding job easily in this area, promotion opportunities, no overtime work, being an office job and flexible working hours
