CRISIS REPORTING AND ETHICS PROBLEMATICKeywords: Kriz habercili?i,Medya,Etik Abstract: ABSTRACT In this study, it is aimed to reveal the position of crisis communication, crisis journalism in literature and what kind of problems they create ethically. The terms of crisis refer to the periods of depression in which extraordinary events are experienced for a society. These periods are the periods when people's information needs are at highest level. For this reason, the media is aware of a higher responsibility and sensitivity in crisis periods. Written and visual media organs which public have the opportunity to receive the first news, events and situations, have to act with the awareness of this task in times of crisis. In extraordinary situations as war, natural disaster, epidemic, economic crisis, terrorism, rebellion, the concepts of crisis broadcasting and crisis reporting have emerged in the media. The media is also effective in both informing and guiding the masses. In such sensitive periods, every information to be given and every situation to be transferred will provide positive or negative contribution to people's uneasiness, fear and panic. Functioning of media in crisis periods also increased the importance of concepts such as sense of mission and professional ethics. This shows the importance of factors such as crisis reporting
