IN GENERAL VIEV WITH OUTLINES SARIBEYO？LU MUSTAFA RIOT AND REFLECTIONS OF PRECAUTIONS AGAINST IT TO AMID COURT

Abstract It is understood from some different copies sent to Amid court that the brigand named Sar？beyo？lu Mustafa who became an important problem for the state between 1732 and 1739 escaped around Bolvadin. Although the riot was quashed after, its reflections were noticed to authorities of Amid which was a remote area and help was requested from them. In a firman dated 22 Zilhicce 1151/2 April 1739 sent from center to Amid court, padishah commanded to cadi, tax collector, voivode, janissary officer and other authorities that the robber named Sar？beyo？lu and his accompanies should be arrested immediately. As understood, rioters in Honaz Castle were able to run away when surrounded by the army. In the firman which commanded that rioters should be followed, it was indicated that those who killed the said brigand would be awarded with the riches of him and more. It is seen in the correspondences that harsh precautions were taken specifically for this riot and generally for all brigands. In the study firmans which were recorded in the cadi’s notebook in that years were written up as basic source.
