THE INVESTIGATION OF EXPECTATIONS AND OPINIONS ABOUT RECREATIONS AND SPORTY HABITS OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF AT UNIVERSITY OF KOCAELIKeywords: Spor,sportif al??kanl?k,rekreasyon,üniversite,akademik personel Abstract: Aim: To investigate the expectations and opinions of the academic staff of Kocaeli University Umuttepe campus about sporty habits and recreation. Method: The research group is the academic staff of 200 (103 female-97 male) who served at Kocaeli University. In the study, the scale data collection tool was used to assess the expectations and opinions about recreation and sporty recreational habits developed by Osman IC (2004). The research practice was applied in accordance with the principle of volunteerism and face to face. Analysis of the data was made in the SPSS 25.0 package program. The normality test, the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskall-Wallis H test were used. The Cronbach's Alpha value of the scale was found to be 763. The level of significance in the analysis was 0.05. Findings: It is seen that participants participated in the social environment and the question of participation in the sporty recreation activities in 40% for social environment. The high proportion of academic staff shows that 46.5% of active recreational activities do not participate in various sporty activities. Among the most popular sports activities, 42.5% of the participants preferred team sports. Non-popular sports activities have been determined that 38.5% of the participants prefer individual sports. There was no statistically significant difference in the opinion and expectations of the participants about sporty habits and recreation according to gender, age, faculty and title variables (p> 0.05). Conclusion: As a result, the academicians participating in the study had sporty habits, but the sporty habits were evaluated differently and the sporty recreation areas within the university were never The gender, age, faculty and title variables of the participants were not statistically significant differences in their views and expectations about sports habits and recreation
