“Core & Becoming Model” Focused on Secure Attachment within the Context of Relative Holistic Psychotherapy

The aim of this study is to provide a theoretical introduction to the Core & Becoming Model Focused on Secure Attachment which has been developed within the context of Relative Holistic Psychotherapy. The Core & Becoming Model Focused on Secure Attachment ("C&B Model") aims to repair developmental standstills caused by attachment traumas through therapeutic games and psychotechnics and rebuild the secure attachment relationship. When playing games, a child constantly navigates between his/her inner reality (i.e. subjective world) and external reality (i.e. the world of objects). The child at play develops a dialectic relationship between the two worlds. The play is an oscillating bridge between the subjective and objective world of the child and it is used an object of transition to reality. During play, the child both rehearses transition to the world of objects and creates an interim space where s/he can repair his/her vulnerabilities in the world of objects. Furthermore, right brain functions are activated by fantasies, symbols and subjectivities. This helps the child alter his/her inner psychic representations using continued play experience. This ability is necessary to develop the capability to express emotional experience in adult life. The secure attachment relationship with the object of attachment has a critical role in the child's ability to utilize the building blocks present in his/her genetic material in real life. As a result of secure attachment, these building blocks change into an affective, behavioral, cognitive and emotional dynamic-systemic structure. The Core & Becoming Model Focused on Secure Attachment which has been developed within the context of Relative Holistic Psychotherapy aims to interact with the right brain and feed neuroplasticity by reframing developmental barriers through play, catathymia, counseling, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and psychotechnics
