THE UNDERSTANDING OF RELIGIOUS PLURALISM AND THE PLURALISM IN RELIGION IN THE MADRASAH AND IN THE FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

In the globalizing world, religious pluralism has become an important topic of debate. The attitude of religious authorities has great importance on the interreligious dialogue and approaches to different religious interpretations. Madrasah and faculty of Theology are among the institutions that determine the understanding of religious pluralism in society. In this research, the understanding of pluralism of the madrasah has been investigated through the mullah and the understanding of pluralism of the theology faculty through the hodja ideal types. The basic conclusion reached in this study, which was carried out using the qualitative method is that the madrasah and the theology faculty have an exclusivist understanding on religious pluralism. However, both in the madrasah and in the faculty of theology, the dialogue and co-operation between members of different religions on global problems are positively approached
