EVALUATION OF RUMORS RELATED TO MILK KINSHIP IN ISLAM

The milk of mother is an unique source of nourisment for babies. In Islam, a baby suckling a woman can not marry forever with that woman’s baby, since a kinship among him, woman and her relatives occures. In this matter, there exist some accounts of the fact that suckling causes privacy like pedigree. However, it is controversial whether the husband of that woman is forbidden. There are narrations concerning its forbiddance and according to most of scholars laban al-fahl is forbidden. There should be some conditions for the forbiddance of sucklig. One of them is to suckle in the childhood. There many marfu and mawquf hadiths on this matter. But this is for the majority of the scholars is a peculiar practice to them. In the hadiths there are different numbers of hadiths on extent of suckling and all are reilabe. With this study, it is tried to create a general picture by mentioning the related rumors about the conditions necessary for the formation of privacy of milk kinship and the formation of this privacy
