Determination of Strawberry Planting Times and Cultivars in Eski？ehir Conditions

This study was carried out to determine suitable varieties and planting times in strawberry cultivation in Eski？ehir ecological conditions. Albion, San Andreas, Sweet Ann, Redlans Hope and Kabarla strawberry varieties were used as plant material. Frigo seedlings were planted on open land on seven different dates: 25 April, 10 May, 25 May, 10 June, 25 June, 10 July and 25 July. The yield, average fruit weight, water soluble dry matter content and pH of the plants were determined. In this study, the yield values per plant were between 362.71 g (Redlans Hope) and 635.88 g (Kabarla) and between the period of 341.37 g (7th period) and 652.79, respectively. It was determined that the fruit weight between cultivars ranged between 15.00 g (Kabarla) and 19.51 g (San Andreas), and between 11.25 g (7th period) and 20.15 g (1st period). There was a significant difference between the total soluble solids and pH values. The average between the varieties ranged between 6.26% (San Andreas) and 7.98% (Sweet Ann) and between 5.47% (7th period) and 7.93% (6th period). The mean pH values varied between 3.09 (Albion) and 3.63 (Kabarla) between the varieties, and the mean between 2.85 (4. period) and 3.98 (3rd period). As a result, it was determined that the planting times of Kabarla, San Andreas and Sweet Ann varieties were suitable in terms of yield and fruit characteristics in Eski？ehir conditions and 25 April and 10 May
