MASS FUNDING PLATFORMS: TURKEY VERSUS FOREIGN COUNTRIES

In Turkey, as a result of growing internet technology and developing social media extraordinarily, we encounter with crowfunding-as known as mass funding- as of most attractive alternative financial source of late year. For now, mass funding system is used in limited rates by internet sites becasue of being new. The purpose of this study is to investigate most popular website kickstarter and local websites; crowdfon, fongofon and fonlabeni which set up with the aim of applying mass funding system in Turkey, with method of content analysis. Also, in this study, while comparing with foreign and local web sites, funded project types, total funding amount of completed projects, open to fund projects and success rate of these projects are also investigated in order to analyze local websites’ current status. With the regard of final discovery, up till now, 103 projects have become successful in Turkey. In foreign websites, up till now 138.823 projects have become successful . In Turkey, average success rate is 144 dolar, as in foreign amount 7967 dolar
