Determination of Parental Effect on Hybrid Vigor and Grain Yield in Hybrid Maize (Zea mays indentata Sturt.) HybridsKeywords: Ebeveyn etkisi, hibrit m?s?r,melez gücü,tane verimi Abstract: This study was carried out at Konya ecological conditions for two years during 2015-2016. In the study, in order to determine the parental effect on hybrid vigor and grain yield in maize hybrids, 15 parental lines, 20 hybrid corn genotypes obtained from the crossing of some of these lines and 3 commercial corn varieties were grown as 3 replicates according to the randomized block design. In this study, we compared the reciprocal hybrids in terms of grain yield and the heterosis and heterobeltiosis ratios were determined. The highest grain yield was obtained from Famoso hybrid with 1782.60 kg/da, while the highest heterosis and heterobeltiosis values were found in Ana?-7 x Ana?-6 hybrid with 291% and 263%, respectively. As a result of binary comparison, it was found statistically significant and different from reciprocal hybrid combinations in terms of grain yield of 4 different hybrid combinations. These results; indicates that reciprocal crossbreeding is important in the determination of parents to be used as male and/or female in maize breeding
