Imam Maturidi’s Understanding of the Nash

Abu Mansur al-Matur？d？ (d. 333/944) lived in the 3rd and 4th centuries, as the continuation of the Hanafi tradition, Khorasan-Maveraünnehir is a pioneer of the school of the Ahl-i Sunnah. Imam Matur？d？ is a scholar who has a broad knowledge in the fields of commentary, jurisprudence and kalam. He wrote many books in almost every one of these fields. However, only Kitabu't-Tawh？d and Te'v？latu'l-Quran reached to the present day. Of these works, Te'v？latu'l-Qur'an is significant in the field of commentary. especially the day-to-day interpretation of tafsir conception is very important. At the same time, it is an essential book in terms of getting to know about Imam Matur？d？. In this study, we will try to reveal the approach of Imam Matür？d？ to the verses that point out the views that the author is related to the prose and in the literature since nash is one of the important and controversial issues of interpretation. The debate on this subject, which is closely related to the Qur'anic commentary, has been an ongoing issue since the early periods. It is crucial to know how this important subject is perceived and described by Imam Matur？d？, to know the perception of that day, and to determine how we should perceive nash today. That Imam Matur？d？ mentions to the nash in his book is clear but it isn’t clear what he meaned with nash. For this reason, we wil try to clarify the answer to this question in this study, to identify the understanding of nash of Imam Matur？d？ with the views of other commentators of that day and to form a view on nash
