Reisü'l-Ulema Tikveshli Yusuf Ziyaeddin Efendi's Recommendations about Education and Administration to II. Abdülhamid in the Course

Lessons of Huzur-？ Humaayuun, which was practiced in the last two centuries during the Ottoman period, is one of the most important scholars of the time and a council meeting the sultan. Outspoken scholars occasionally advised the sultans in these councils. One of these scholars was Reisü'l-Ulema Tikve？li Yusuf Ziyaeddin Efendi. Tikve？li Yusuf Ziyaeddin Efendi gave some advice to Sultan Abdulhamid about education and administration at a lesson. The text in which he writes his recommendations, draws attention to a very different area than the values of the secularized Ottoman intellectual. He offers recommendations about the place of religion in the state, dominance of religious rules in social life and the proportion of religious lessons in education, which are a very controversial issues from the beginning of the twentieth century
