Construction of Islamic Female Identity in Food-themed Weblogs: Cahide SultanKeywords: Gündelik ya?am,mutfak,yemek bloglar?,?slam? kad?n kimli?i,Cahide Sultan Abstract: One of the instruments that have become so popular with digitalization in the sharing of experiential knowledge of daily life is weblogs that can be collected under different themes such as fashion, beauty, personal development, education and literature. These weblogs make visible how one of us experiences daily life, what and how he/she does and how he/she thinks about which subject but are not limited to these. The information produced in the weblogs is also reproducing the everydayness. This gender-differentiated production both helps to convey the experiences which are desired to be visible among women and can reinforce mythical assumptions, as well. From this point of view this study aims to reveal what kind of female identity is built in the kitchen through Islamic discourse in Cahide Sultan which is one of the kitchen-based weblogs. To answer this main question, the posts created between 2009 and 2017 were analyzed using a qualitative research design. The kitchen which is idealized is built on the duality of halal-haram and the femininity dexterity that is deemed necessary to conceive that duality and in this way traditional female roles are reproduced. Ultimately, the privilege of speaking about a reasonable female identity is established through verse of the Koran, the prophet Muhammad's sayings/deeds and examples from Islamic history with the knowledge of the kitchen in which women is regarded as the unique responsible
