THE CONTRIBUTION OF THEOROLOGICAL BASIS TO RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - FROM THE PO？NT OF VIEW OF RELIGION

ONThis article discusses the theological and scientific value of the theological foundation of religious education. It is questioned how such research will contribute to the theory and practice of religious education. Regardless of the nature of religion, the problems that will be caused by the decisions regarding ？ts education are pointed out. Our primary aim is to reveal the necessity of considering religious references in the foundation of religious education, therefore, it is to draw attention to the educational characteristics of Islam in its essence. In this study with a theoretical approach, “Why religious education?” and ”What are the main goals of religious education?” questions are tried to be answered in the light of the approach of Islam. In this framework, some verses and hadiths that shedding light on the goals and methods of education are analyzed. Additionally in the light of concepts such as philosophy, guidance, reason and contemplation, ？t is tried to search for clues as to what kind of an educational approach is foreseen in Islamic thought
