Analysis Of The Role Of Recrational Activ?ties On The Sustainable Event ManagementKeywords: Rekreasyon,etkinlik y?netimi,y?netim,sürdürülebilirlik,sürdürülebilir etkinlik Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the sustainability conception of recreational activities applied in private sector. The participants of this study which is composed of 23 managers from 4 different telecommunication companies in ?zmir. Time schedule and the venue of the interviews were planned according to the participants and the interviever. The sustainable facility management perception of the managers were handled with qualitative research method and examined within the planned behavioral theory. The study is derived from the phenomenon that after a long term desk work in private sector, sustainable facility management is necessary in terms physical, psychological and sociological needs for recreational activities of employers. Obtained data were changed into prose in computer environment. Then, data were analysed through “Nvivo 11 Pro for Windows” software. As a result analysis of the data, managers thoughts on “ application of recreational activities at work” , “the out come attained by participation in recrational activities” and “conception for sustainable facility management” were presented as main themes.Up to the views of the managers for applying recreational activities at work; among the activities “educational activities, trips” “picnic”, “sportive activities”, “art and cultural activities”, “meals”, “recreative games”, “entertainments” and “organizations in nature” have been reached as codes. Benefits of participation to recreational activities at work four (4) sub-themes have been reached. These themes are; “physiological benefits”, “psychological benefits”, “sociological benefits” and“ institutional benefits” . As for the importance of the sustainable facility management; “institutional culture”, “ belonging to the institution” and “sustainable facility management” themes are presented. And thus; “ productivity”, “ team work”, “institutional values”, “defining mission and vision”, increase in success”, and “sense of belonging ” codes reached. At the end of the research based on the managers’ views, the result is that in private sector recreational activities contribute positively on the sense of belonging, productivity and in addition; physiological, psychological and sociological situations of the employers.
