INVESTIGATION OF THE BIOLOGY SUBJECTS IN EIGHTH GRADE SCIENCE TEXTBOOK IN TERMS OF SCIENTIFIC CONTENTKeywords: Fen bilimleri ders kitab?,bilimsel hata,alternatif kavram,kavram yan?lg?s? Abstract: It is very important that the textbooks which provide guidance to the students and teachers in the learning of the concepts do not contain any scientific errors. In particular, the information and content that will reduce students' misconceptions should not be included in the textbooks. The aim of this study is to examine the topics of biology in the 8th science course textbook, used for 2018-2019 academic year, approved by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey. Document analysis was done as a method in the research. In this study, it has been examined by the experts of the field of biology who have received scientific erroneous and incomplete content information in the units of DNA and Genetic Code and Energy Transformations and Environmental Science. The research findings were categorized according to the units and chapters. In the findings, incomplete or erroneous information and misconceptions identified in the book were evalued and tabulated with reference to accepted sources in international biology literature. For the realization of meaningful learning, it is recommended that these errors in the textbook should be corrected immediately
