EFFECT OF 8-WEEK PLYOMETRIC TRAINING ON SELECTED STRENGTH PARAMETERS OF 12-14 AGED WOMAN HANDBALL PLAYERSKeywords: Hentbol,Kuvvet,Pliometrik Antrenman Abstract: Aim of this study was to investigate the effects of eight-week plyometric training program on some selected strength parameters of woman handball players in the 12-14 year age group. Handball players were divided into two group as experimental (n=14, age:13,07±0,83 years), and control group (n=14, age:13,07±0,83 years). One week before and after the study; age, height, and weight, vertical jump, standing long jump, 30-s sit-up test, and 30-s push-up test were recorded. The experimental group participated in plyometric training program three days a week for eight weeks, with the handball training. The control group continued to practice handball training regularly. For the analysis of the data, paired samples t-test and independent samples t-test was used. According to the data obtained in the comparison between the experimental and control groups, there was a significant differences in favor of the experimental group in terms of vertical jump, standing long jump, 30-s sit-up test, and 30-s push-up test (p<0,05). Looking at the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group, a statistical significance was found in terms of the vertical jump, standing long jump, 30-s sit-up test, and 30-s push-up test (p<0,05). The only significance in the control group was in the standing long jump and 30-s push-up tests (p>0,05). In summary, it could be said that eight-week plyometric training program positively affects strength features of 12-14 aged woman handball players
