Abstract:

Aphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae) were identified on different host plants belong to about 300 plant family including herbaceous plants, trees, shrubs and ornamental plants in cultivated and uncultivated areas throughout world. Most of aphids migrate from primer host plants to seconder host plants throughout their life cycle. To determine primer and seconder host plants of aphids and their the source of contamination to agricultural areas are very important for the determination of control strategies. In this study, frequency of the aphid species was calculated by percentage of the ratio of the number of points where aphid sampling to total number of sampling points. The analysis of the similarity cluster on the families of host plants was used by Biodiversity Pro V7 package program. As a result of a study conducted to determine aphids and their host plants cultivated and uncultivated areas from 2013 to 2015 in ?anakkale Province, 24 different host plant family of aphids were determined. Consequently, Rosaceae the most preferred family with 9 aphid species and it was followed by the family Asteraceae with 7 aphid species. The other families were Adoxaceae, Apiaceae, Apocynaceae, Araliaceae, Berberidaceae, Brassicaceae, Cistaceae, Fabaceae, Juglandaceae, Lythraceae, Malvaceae, Oleaceae, Pinaceae, Poaceae, Polygonaceae, Portulacaceae, Rutaceae, Salicaceae, Solanaceae, Typhaceae, Ulmaceae and Vitaceae. It is thought that to determine of the host plants around agricultural areas where overwintering of aphid species is may be effective for control strategies to reduce pesticide applications in the control of these pests
