The Subjects Modern State and Modern Military in Classical Sociology within Marx, Durkheim and WeberKeywords: Bat?,Modern Devlet,Modern Ordular,Sosyoloji Abstract: New economic-oriented relationships with non-Western world which was established in the 15th century and lasted for centuries onward mark the emergence and development of a modern world. The emergence of modern state and modern military in West in the 17th and 19th centuries respectively should be considered to be economic and political transformations taking place in the same world. However, it is not possible to limit the transformations which embraced many centuries to two areas. That the field sociology came into existence in the 19th century with an aim of creating solutions to the problems modern societies had supports this argument. The aim of this article is to analyze to what extent classical sociology refers to modern state and modern military in understanding and explaining modern social processes, and how it approaches to these two issues by referring to what Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, and Max Weber suggested relating to these matters. It is considered that this analysis will lead to clearer understanding of the point of view of the field sociology which emerged at a time when the instrument of modern politics was developed and the modern instrument of violence was invented
