Dünya Harbi Abstract: Although Turkey followed a policy that had the principle of staying away from war until the end of the 2nd World War, this major war affected negatively the country in economic, political, and military terms. The governments of the period had to take serious and strict measures to ensure that Turkey would receive the lowest damage in case of a possible war. During the 2nd World War years, one of the measures that were taken in the field of economics was the National Protection Law. During the National Struggle, the Orders of National Taxation, which were obeyed by the Turkish Nation with unique sacrifices and which show the poverty and hardships of the nation in those years, are important in that they justified the National Protection Law. On the other hand, the National Protection Law also caused that there appeared justified reactions by the people because of the beadledom or ignorance of the officials who were assigned in the application process of the law. All in all, the National Protection Law is a law that was enacted for the survival and benefit of the state and the nation under war conditions. However, the practices were not limited to the war period, and after the CHP Government ended, the Democrat Party Government also continued the application of this law
