Qualitative Study on the Effects of Game Addiction on University Students

With the development of technology, computers in all areas of our lives make daily life easier, but also cause some negative effects. One of these negativities is the internet addiction seen in every age group. One of the main reasons for internet addiction is game addiction. There are various negative factors that can be seen in people who are addicted to the game. In this study, the effects of digital games on university students, which enveloped individuals as a disease and made them dependent, were investigated. The study also discussed the positive and negative aspects of their games, especially on students. In this study, qualitative interviewing techniques were used. The study revealed that individuals associate digital games with real life, prefer digital gaming to other activities, and that digital games are a guide to solving a problem in real life
