The Analysis of the Narrations Related to Wipe of Naked FootKeywords: Hadis,Mesh,Yorum,Ehl-i sünnet,?ia Abstract: The scholars of Ahl-al-Sunna and Shiite have been in conflict on various issues. One of these issues is about the wipe of naked foot. The reason of this conflict between Ahl-al-Sunna and Shiite sources from two different recitations of a verse in Surat Al-Ma’idah and different narrations. In this study, hadiths related to wiping of naked foot were analyzed in terms of document and text and validity of these hadiths was revealed. The issue of washing feet in wudu has been a subject to many research in relation to its fiqh and tafsir sides. However validity assessment of hadiths expressing wipe has not been carried out yet. In this study a healthy assessment of these hadiths is tried to be done by including the isnad with the analysis and criticism of the matn. Hadiths expressing the washing of the feet in wudu is not included in our study’s subject. Therefore hadiths related to this subject will only be refered to. The way the Prophet performed wudu was widely appeared in the first term hadith recourses and the companions of the Prophet passed down the way Rasul Allah performed wudu down to the last detail. It is imperative that what is meant by narratives about washing/waking which is between the fards of wudu and has caused a deep dispute between Ahl-al-Sunna and Shia about how it is done is discovered. To fill the mentioned scientific void, in this study the subject will be examined in aspect to tafsir and fiqh and it will be discussed whether the wiping or the washing of the feet in wudu is truer according to Sunnah. Another point that must be addressed about washing of the feet in wudu is terms of ka’b. Ahl-al-Sunna and Shiite gave the word ka’b different meanings and interpreted the verses and hadiths according to these given meanings. That’s why the explanation of the term ka’b has a big importance in clarification of this subject. As we can see while the scholars of Ahl-al-Sunna have not criticized the validation of the narrations that express the washing of the feet, some Shiite have objected to these narrations. Narrations that indicate wiping of the feet have been criticized by scholars of Ahl-al-Sunna and according to the expressions with the best intentions they have been acknowledged as exceptional. With these criticisms during the evaluation of the matn we will try to tell for certain whether washing of the feet or wiping of the feet in wudu is more accurate
