"I need something powerful" – Integration of Syrian refugee students in Turkey through their English teacher EducationKeywords: syrische Studierende,Sprachbiografie,Mehrsprachigkeit,narrative Interviews,türkisches Hochschulsystem,Integration Abstract: In the present research Syrian students at a Turkish university were qualitatively examined with regard to their choice of study from the perspective of post-migration experience as well as their multilingual precondition. Therefore four case studies of English language teaching students were constructed by means of the lingual biographical approach. Data was collected through preparative questionnaires followed by semi-structured narrative in-depth interviews over a time period of four months. This research aims to disclose the professional development and possible integration mechanisms through their study. Finally results are contrastively discussed with related research and suggestions on implications to the Turkish higher education system are offered
