Anthropological Approach to Security Perception

Since its existence, security has been one of the most important requirements for human beings. As a result of the rapid developments that have occurred today, it is seen that classic security definitions have lost their meaning in every field from individual safety to social security. Security concept has chanced dimension. As a result, unpredictable security issues can suddenly be turn into social violence. The science of anthropology, which is a human and cultural science, cannot be stay away as examining the underlying causes of human's most important need. This is very normal. Culture is an accumulation of knowledge and the science created in the field of security is gradually developing. On the other hand, it is a fact that security cannot be ensured with the measures taken. The creation of this belief often requires far more than the efforts made for the measures taken. At this point, the perception of the individual is extremely important. Perception is the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. Perception is also influenced by emotional experiences, attitudes, goals and social norms. In this study, it will be tried to bring a different perspective to the subject by evaluating the subject of security, which is one of the most basic requirements of human being, in terms of anthropology which is a human and cultural science
