A Study on the Piano Accompaniment Problems and Solutions of Music Teachers in TurkeyKeywords: müzik ??retmeni,e?lik,müzik e?itimi,akor sembolleri,E?itim Fakültesi Abstract: Today, the most important factor in becoming a beneficial individual for people in the population they live is education, especially education in the field of fine arts which is one of the most important sub-titles of education. Music education, given at primary and secondary schools to students who will not choose music as a profession will provide very important contributions for educating them as individuals who have caught up the present time in the music field of fine arts. Therefore the music teachers should have the professional knowledge to serve this aim. One of the most important elements of this knowledge is that, the music teachers should be able to accompany the songs and anthems they teach in schools by piano at a sufficient level for the education they give. In Turkey however, the studies until now have revealed that this goal can not be reached at the desired level as a result of the current education given in Music Education Faculties. With this article, more efficient and result oriented solutions have been aimed about the piano accompaniment training taken by music teachers during the undergraduate education in Turkey and especially Chord Symbols System, which used practically and successfully abroad in the field of accompaniment, has been proposed to be added to the existing curriculum. The article contains the problems of music teachers in the field of accompaniment in today’s Turkey and survey, interview and experimental techniques are not used in the article which is created by descriptive research method
