Elderly Care Department Students’ Attitudes Towards Elderly According to the Their Personal Value PreferencesKeywords: De?erler,Ya?l? Ayr?mc?l??? Abstract: Aging as a biological process is a condition that every living thing can live. It is inevitable to live difficulties due to the losses of body functions in aging. The attitudes of especially young people towards elderly has an important place on facilitating their lives. One of the factors that affects the attitudes is the values that they have. For this reason, in this study, it is aimed that examining the differences between attitudes towards elderly according to the values of university students. The study group consists of 107 associate degree students who are volunteered to the study and studies in Elderly Care department. In the collection of data, it was benefited from Values Hierarchy Scale which was developed by Güng?r (1998) and Elderly Discrimination Attitude Scale which was developed by Vefikulu?ay (2008). In the analysis of the data, Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests were used with percentage and frequency distributions. As a result; it was determined that students adopt religious values as basic value preference and the students who have social values showed the most positive attitudes towards elderly
