SUSTA？NABLE URBAN MANAGEMENT ？N BURSA

The idea of sustainable urban living is to be able to create people-oriented livable cities for today and for the future of the city. In terms of economy, Bursa is the fifth most advanced city in TURKEY. It is a rich mining territory as well as agriculture, industry, commerce and tourism. Increased urban population, industrialization, inadequacy of housing and infrastructure, difficulty accessing businesses, goods and services, unemployment, inequality and misuse of natural resources affect urban sustainability negatively. In order to serve urban sustainability, policies strongly need to be determined and act jointly with the participation of central government, local administrators, urban planners, academics, non-governmental organizations and the people. With this study; air quality, noise complaints, quantity & composition of solid waste, land usage, greenhouse gas inventories were examined in Bursa. In this study, changes in parameters were tried to be explained by tables and graphs, and suggestions for negative indicators seen in accepted sustainability parameters, were developed according to years
