Molecular Characterization and Determination of Some Biochemical Properties of Endemic Serratula olygocephala Growing in Ad?yamanKeywords: Serratula olygocephala,moleküler karakterizasyon,antioksidan,serbest radikal,ya? asidi Abstract: In this study, molecular characterization of endemic Serratula olygocephala grown in Adiyaman was determined. DNA isolation was performed using the Plant DNeasy (Qiagen Inc.) kit, following the kit protocol. In addition, the antioxidant activity and fatty acid composition of the plant were also determined. In terms of the antioxidant activity, total phenolic substance concentration of the plant was determined by applying the folin method and free radical scavenging capacity was determined by DPPH radical scavenging test. Fatty acid profile of Serratula oligocephala was determined by gas chromatography. The percentage of the saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fatty acids was calculated
