Abstract:

are social media networks. These networks are selected in accordance with the predetermined communication strategy. Being involved in just a few social media environments is not enough to describe the target mass. Social media networks have an important place in individual and global impact because they create instant and rapid responses unlike other media environments. Because it can provide accessibility not only nationally but globally, it reveals the power of social media. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the usage purposes and usage habits of the reasons of usage of social media in organizational communication and intra-organizational communication. In the study, literature search, which is a qualitative research method, was performed. As a result, it has been determined that the social media usage of the organizations differs according to the sector. In commercial organizations, social media is used to reach more target groups, to introduce products and institutions, to advertise the institution, to follow the customers and competitors, and according to the result of the studies conducted in the academic environment, social media is used for research, transport and communication.
