In Which Subject Physical Education Teachers Feel Inadequate?

Abstract:

Purpose:It can be seen that studies about self-sufficiency of physical education teachers on a national basis are being performed with a quantitative approach. It was aimed to analyze the self-sufficiency of physical education teacher on maintaining educational activities and the subjects that they feel inadequate with a quantitative approach in this research. Method: Phenomenological research technique, which is one of the quantitative research designs, was used with the purpose of gathering information about the levels of self-sufficiency of physical education teachers. Maximum variation method which is one of the most common techniques of phenomenological researches is used. For this purpose, attention was paid to the diversity of placement year, school type and school level while selecting the attendants. 16 physical education teachers, who work in schools with different features in Yesilyurt district of Malatya, attended to this research. 9 of the attendants were male and 7 of the attendants were female teachers. Semi-structured question form used in meetings. Results: “Descriptive analysis” was used in the analysis of this research which was designed with in the scope of quantitative research. “Educational Progress”, “Field Information”, “Assessment and Evaluation” and “Regulation Information” themes and codes of the set themes were detected according to the results of descriptive analysis. Conclusion: It was concluded that physical education teachers have difficulties about relaying information and teaching methods during the educational process. It was detected that teachers have troubles based on lack of knowledge about regulations and assessment and evaluation. According to results of the research, in-service trainings regulated in parallel with requirements can be provided
