Reproductive Use of Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs in CowsKeywords: Gebe kalma oran?,?nek,NSAID,Reprodüksiyon. Abstract: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is widely used in veterinary medicine due to their analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. These effects are shown by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in many reproductive organs such as ovaries, uterus, placenta and pituitary gland. They can have both positive and negative effects on reproductive performance. The best choice is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the regulation of the positive/negative effects of the prostaglandins. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be administered to repeat breeder cows in order to increase fertility, during/after artificial insemination and embryo transfer. It is also used in cases such as dystocia, postpartum period retentio secundinarium, acute septic metritis and subclinical endometritis. The aim of this review is to present new information about the applications of nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, which are becoming increasingly widespread to improve reproductive performance
