Current approach to thyroid nodules: the Bethesta classification

Fine needle aspiration biopsy is generally first step for the cytological diagnoses of thyroid nodules. Evaluation of this commonly used procedure accurately is important. For a thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy report, the disease that cytopathologists means should be the same as the disease clinician understands. For this purpose there are some algorithms prepared by some committees.
