The Andalusian Arabic Literature in General

Andalus which was mentioned by Arabs for Spain was dominated by Muslims as a natural result of Islamic conquests in the history therein and has remained an Islamic region for 8 centuries. With the help of the struggles of Muslims and non-Muslims in different fields, Andalus undertook a major role in the birth of a bright civilization and it has developed a unique interpretation in Language-Literature, Education, Science and art. The social atmosphere occurred in which the common cultures dominate the Andalusian territories, including different languages such as Arabic, Berber Language, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin, French and Catalan. The existence of unique Andalusian poetry types has made great contributions to Arabic literature, and the novelties in prose literature which made by the scholars there, have made great progress in the Arabic prose literature. Thus, the independent Arabic literature has come into existence in Andalus.
