Development of mathematical models for calculating amount of leaching water for remediation of boron problematic soilsKeywords: Bor,Borlu topraklar,Y?kama,Y?kama suyu normu,Modelleme Abstract: Determination of the amount of water for reclamation of salt affected soils is important for the success of the leaching. This study was carried out in Aksaray University Campus on 500 ha boron-sodium rich soils. Nine (2 x 2 m) parcels were used to obtain experimental data for leaching. Soil samples were taken from 0-25, 25-50, 50-75, 75-100 cm depth of parcels and models were developed to predict amount of leaching water. Due to high pH of the soil, 4 and 8 kg of sulphur (S) were incorporated in the leaching parcels to decrease the pH and increase the leaching efficiency. The leaching process was made by given 30 cm fresh water in four periods. Analytical expressions of hyperbola, exponential, power and logarithmic models were fitted to experimental data. The most appropriate models were determined by model selection criteria. When the mathematical models obtained in the application are evaluated according to the compatibility criteria, in the application of S1, the most successful logarithmic model describes the experimental data
